However, despite extensive media coverage, government reviews, regulatory changes and Parliamentary debates, many doctors have still not heard of the issues.

Globally, pelvic mesh, hernia mesh and rectopexy mesh is in widespread use, with complications including chronic pain, mesh erosion, infection, and organ perforation. We have male members whose hernia mesh has sliced their spermatic cord and female members whose pelvic mesh has sliced their urethra or cut through their vaginal walls. The severity of these complications varies from patient to patient, but for many, can be debilitating, leading to a diminished quality of life and the need for additional surgeries to correct the issues caused by the mesh implants.
