My incredible mum was on BBC Breakfast this morning… and of course she was wearing clothes from my shop Unscripted!

She was bravely sharing her story about pelvic mesh and the devastating impact it’s had on her life.

Many of you will know my mum, Mandy, as one of our biggest shopaholics in store (I definitely know where I get it from! But what many people don’t see is that coming into the shop gives her a little bit of normality and something to look forward to.

Before all of this, Mum was a bubbly mobile hairdresser for 28 years. Sadly, after having pelvic mesh implanted, her life changed dramatically. She now relies on support to walk, lost her business, and even lost her driving licence because she no longer has enough power in one of her legs.

Despite everything she’s been through, she still walks through our doors with a smile. Yes, the medication can make her a little “doolally” at times (we always have a laugh about it!), but her strength and resilience amaze me every single day.

As a women-led business, I wanted to share her story because no woman should ever feel alone.
