After my mesh sling implant at the age of 41, it was successful for a time but then the bladder leaks returned. Along with this I became extremely sensitive in the vaginal area and, as a result, sexual intercourse with my husband became impossible due to pain. This caused so much upset as this was part of our loving and happy marriage.

Finally, I have had a full removal of the sling and while things are not perfect finally we can enjoy intercourse again.

I read on one of the surveys on Sling The Mesh that 7 in 10 people on the support group have lost their sex life after mesh because it causes so much pain. This makes me mad and sad all at the same time.

You can bet if mesh was cutting into men’s penises or making their penises sore then this surgery would have stopped years ago. My husband is so understanding and supportive but this has definitely put a strain on our marriage.
